About Us
Subject to Christ:
In the New Testament, we read of "the churches of christ" (Rom 16:16). This is in reference to the various congregations or churches in different areas. Christ is the head of the Church (Eph. 5:23). All things are in subject to Him; He is head over all things (Eph. 1:22-23). The churches spoken of in the Bible were autonomous (self-governing) with Christ as their guide. They did not have synods, conventions, national headquaters or an association to interpret teh scriptures or direct them. They used Christ's word-the Bible as their guiede. As the New Testament churches did, so we also submit to the authority of Christ (James 4:12) and use the Bible as our guide.
Worship:
Our worship is simple because it is based on the New Testament pattern. Prayers are lead by the men of the church and all the congregation sings, making melody in their hearts unto the Lord (Eph. 5:19). We observe the Lord's Supper (communion) every first day of the week until Christ comes again (Acts 20:7, I Cor 11:26). A contribution is taken every Lord's day from among the members of the church. We do not ask others to support our work (I Cor 16:1-2). A sermon is prepared to build up those in attendance. Bible classes are also offered to edify (build up in the Lord).
Bible Studies Offered:
We offer all types of studies, from Bible correspondence courses through the mail to "one on one" studies and large group studies.
